Heartburn - Causes and Precautions - Health-Teachers

Heartburn or inflammation is a clear sign of increased acidity in the stomach and experience has shown that this complaint is increasing in our country and the number of patients suffering from this disease is increasing day by day.

It can be said that one-third of the population suffers from this disease. And that number is higher in cities. This is why anti-acid drugs are being shown more.

Sometimes burning in the chest is not a big problem. This irritation usually affects everyone, as we often have to eat spicy or chit-patty and fried items cooked in a pot at weddings and other celebrations. After coming home a little later in the night, while sleeping, there is a burning sensation in the chest which disappears after drinking and eating.

Although there are indications that gastric acidity is increasing, most people become indifferent after a temporary recovery.

Causes of irritation

When it rises due to pressure, the acid in it goes into the esophagus. There is a muscular ligament at the end of the esophagus, which opens and closes when food reaches the stomach.

Excessive exercise, bending over, or lifting a heavy object loosens the ligaments under pressure and causes the acid to reach the esophagus and cause irritation.

When this acidity persists, it can lead to several complications, such as esophagitis and sores in the esophagus, and burning and pain in the chest. Persistent pain can also lead to cancer.

So we all have a certain amount of acid in our stomach which is also necessary, but fried foods like chili spices and oily foods increase the acidity. In addition, smoking, tea, coffee, cola drinks and beverages can be, but experience has shown that these factors worked in most patients with heartburn.

Precautions

When heartburn occurs due to increased acidity in the stomach, try to take precautions instead of medication. First of all, change your eating habits, do not eat fried and greasy foods, be very careful with chili spices, give up soft drinks, tobacco, betel, tea, and coffee, eat less salt, chew food, and go to bed immediately after eating.

When walking or lying down in bed, keep the pillow up to six inches high so that acid from the stomach enters the esophagus. Take a walk in the morning and evening to eat, read more, and be happy instead of thinking.
