Complete rest is the first and foremost requirement. The patient's room should be kept warm, and the patient should eat easily digestible food. When the disease is severe, only juice or ice should be used. 

If you are constipated, try to relieve it. Take aspirin for pain and fever. Several times per day, gargle with warm salt water.
